Blame Reality TV?

So I was hopping about when I read a blog about how reality tv is the cause of cancelled scripted programs. People really need to get off that bandwagon. Was it the case at the height of it? Maybe so. Is it now? Nope!

99.9999% of reality tv is garbage and the same percentage of it is not actually reality. Shocker, right? But it doesn’t take away from scripted shows any more.

Of all the new shows that got picked up for the fall, not a one was a new reality tv show. So that proves right there that reality tv did not cause your favorite show to get cancelled. Low ratings did. That or the show became too expensive to make and thus it was chopped.

So a scripted show got rid of a scripted show. No reality tv involved. I just felt like getting this out there. Plus then I could add that the stupid Nielson ratings are now so prehistoric they seem dumb to go by. With everyone watching in all different forms these days, they really need something new. Maybe they could just call up the NSA. They have all our habits already anyway.

Do you still think reality tv canceled your show? Did you ever think it? Also newsflash, unless you are part of the show in some way shape or form, it’s not “your” show. Just had to throw that in there.

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

You win rant of the day!
I admit, I do watch shows like Bar Rescue. Nothing like watching drunk and dumb business owners flushing their bars down the tubes – and hearing John yell at them.
