Credible Credibility!

With the invention of the internet you have every Tom, Dick, and Harry out there giving advice on everything. That is nothing new. But more and more, which is nothing new, just more, people are believing every Tom, Dick, and Harry. It has even gone to the ridiculous, as people actually believe that quotes from dead people are true. Quotes that reference technology of today. Did their ghost come back just so the internet can have a quote?

Lazy and/or naive seems to cover it. But still, what has to be going through one’s head?

This guy is a tax accountant, but he’s giving advice on veterinary medicine and he doesn’t even own a pet. Let’s take what he says as gospel, because making a cat go vegan is such a GREAT idea.

This woman is a lawyer, but she’s giving me advice on how to fight aliens that have never been seen. Let’s take what she says as gospel and buy all the stuff on her website, which she conveniently stocked with everything we would need to stop the alien invasion that she knows nothing about.

This guy is a WWE wrestler, but he’s telling you how to play the stock market when he has never invested in a stock in his life. He also knows nothing about the stock market. But for just $45.99, you’ll get the best tips ever.

I could go on all day. I could even give you tips on how to become an astronaut. Tip #1: find someone who knows how to go from point a to point b. Tip #2: Ignore all other sources that have never even attempted it like me.

Do you believe everything you read on the internet? I hope that is a no. But do you go farther and apply stuff from “credible” sources who are about as credible is what the cat leaves in the litter box each day? Seen anything that you’ve rolled your eyes at lately from a so-called credible source? Have people just gotten dumber? More naive? Lazier? Or maybe they are just being attention mongers, which in turn makes them arsemongers. Or maybe just a wanker. Had to.

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

Your cats would have something to say about that vegan thing.
The Internet is the bathroom wall of the world.
In addition to people believing advice from non-experts are those believing news from very biased sources. Get the facts and truth, people.

Yep, the bathroom wall, in some cases the toilet, indeed. People flock to the news they want to read and believe it because it agrees with their mindset.

I try to research everything I can to make sure what I read is credible. It’s sad how many people believe everything instead of trying to find facts.

Yep, they just believe away, no matter what comes out some nut.

Happy Sunday, Pat! I’m skeptical about everything I see on the internet. So much of it is garbage! I check and verify over and over. It’s such a waste of time that I’m going to the internet less and less. Have a good one!

Yep, sure can be a time suck. Good to avoid many a time.
