The Friends

The other day I heard that same old thing. I was going to use it for the cat, and I still may, but he’s done until almost 2017 and I’m not, so I win. What was it? “I have a friend….”

You know how it ends. It either goes “that has done that” or “that is looking to do that” or “that knows about that” or…you get the picture. Not only are there people, who are oh so very annoying, that know it all, but everyone has a friend that has seen it, done it or wants to do it.

You can tell the same person 50 different things and they will have 50 different friends that have done it, seen it or wants to do it. Do I need to repeat that every time? Nah, but I might. Let’s not even count the same friend who has done the 50 different things themselves. Otherwise we may end up in imaginary land. There my pal, Newton The Newt has cured cancer. On second thought, maybe it isn’t a bad place to be.

How do they count friends? The clerk at the grocery store that says hello? The garbage man that takes their trash? Each Twitter or Facebook follower that they added to up their friend count? Either way, there seems to be an unlimited amount of friends who have done it, seen it or wants to do it.

It sounds like they know more about what their friends know than what they know. A lot of knowing going on and nothing getting done. Don’t they call that politics?

Are you one who has friends that have done it, seen it or wants to do it? You must be pretty popular if so. Did we just delve back into imaginary land? Ever think about how many times the friend is used? Just popped in so I gave it a spin.

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

I know someone who does that…
I think it’s more annoying when it’s one person who has done it all. Who has time to do it all?

True, no one has time to do it all

I once had a friend who had done and seen everything bigger and better than what I tried to show her when she came for a visit. I didn’t say anything, but I sure wanted to ask, “Then why did you come?”
