The Remake Partake!

The ninja wannabe wants remakes to show. Bah, good thing it isn’t the cat or he would provide way more snarky comments. I’ll just move on with the remake show.

Hey, I said I was moving on. Doesn’t that face say it all? Remakes…WTF? Don’t you want to watch this one? Hint: It’s no Con Air, although you may want to get on one after this.

Wow. I’m sensing a pattern here. Look. Look. Look again. They spend more time staring in the movie than you will at the screen. Providing naps to all. So great.

He’s a cop. He’s a robot. Is he both? Is he man? Hey, it makes your brain work. That is such a win, right? Don’t forget that crime has a new enemy. Wait. New? Remake? Hmmmmm…

Much like the title says, they are hoping you don’t have total recall. That way you may enjoy this. Hey, Kate is fine to look at. Win!

Speaking of total recall. Can you recall every scene in the original? No? Well just watch this remake. Word for word. Scene for scene. No need to thank them for helping your brain.

This total recall thing is catching. Hey, at least Kenny Loggins got paid again. With Top Gun 2 coming he must be happy.

Wow. This total recall thing is annoying. Don’t you love how they care so much about refreshing your brain? Hmm the box office returns lead me to believe that is a no.

Oh look, The Fresh Prince of Wax on, Wax off? Hmmm, wouldn’t that make him the butler?

It’s Johnny Depp. Need I say more? Jack Sparrow is high on candy. Need I say more? Tim Burton…nope, I won’t say more.

Oh look. It’s here to confuse. It’s not set in the same universe. It’s not a sequel. It’s not catering to PC anything. Nope, just not. But it is using much of the same stuff from the others. Wow, a whole lot of not nots going on. Not going to go there. See? I can do it too.

Ohhhh. You said good? Did I not do that? Look, I did it twice. Suck it Ghostbusters. Right. Good. Hmmm. Remake. Good. Hmmm…

I found one. Stuck between the original and the recent cancelled TV series. Guess being the middle child can be good.

Before the direct to DVD sequel err umm remake sequel. Before the super zombie craze. Before Glenn hid under a dumpster to magically survive. Whoops. Spoiler alert? I’ll stop before I end up with a crappy ending like it had. Whoops, double the spoiler alert. Too late for me.

Have you seen any good remakes at your sea? Do you kinda cringe at the word like me? Did you actually like any of my first 10 more than a tiny bit? If so, we can’t be friends any longer, at least for today.

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

I remember the original Footloose movie. I think. LOL I’m not really a movie person. Or am I thinking of Dirty Dancing?

Now the Ghostbusters song is ringing in my head! They made another Ghostbusters?
Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors… especially liked his Edward Scissorhands role.

Of all of those, I did like the War of the Worlds remake. At least they made it very different. Dawn of the Dead was all right.
There were two Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the one in the late 70’s and the one in the 90’s, and both were good.
Thanks for participating in the blogfest!

The nineties had a few. The Faculty and The Invasion were pretty much a rip off redo thing.

That they did, avoid with glee.

I liked the original Charlie Wonky best. Dep’s character was just too dark and weird for me. I’ll have to pull up the Karate Kid #2 and see if I like it as much as the first one. Good choices, Pat. Interesting and varied.

Original was best. Avoid the Karate kid one.

I’ll have to being a fan of Left Behind–I just happen to like stories in that genre and I enjoy Nicholas Cage films. The Cruise version of War of the Worlds is also a film I found rather entertaining though it lacked the message of the original.

Dawn of the Dead or any of the “Dead” movies didn’t really need remakes, but I did enjoy them. I just liked the original versions better. Maybe they should have just let sleeping dead lie.

I didn’t mind the original three, but ppfft to that one. Cruise one just had way too much staring. True, dead didn’t need it, stay dead indeed.

I know a lot of people who don’t like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but I liked it. I’m not sure I’ve seen the original, so that may be why.

    That could be why indeed.

Maybe its the snark, but I don’t think you liked any of these. 🙂

I did forget about a few of these, so at least its a good list of remakes, not a list of good remakes. 🙂

Thank you for joining our blogfest today!!!

I liked the newest War of the Worlds. As much as I like Johnny Depp, Gene Wilder will always be my fav. Some remakes are great, some suck.

That some surely do and they suck big time too.

I like Johnny Depp, but I still prefer the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. Like it or not, the new RoboCop was a major improvement over the original.

    2017-11-14 10:36:29 Reply

Yeah, the original was cheesy as can be. And anything beats that awful Robocop 3.

Well, I like Johnny Depp, despite all going on with him, so the remake worked for me. Didn’t care for Ben Hur at all. Big shoes to fill on that one.

Admittedly, I liked the new Ghostbusters. The rest, meh. Karate Kid didn’t need to be remade. Neither did Footloose.

Not much needed to be remade but that never stopped the Hollywood machine.
