The VS In Selling

We know there are many roads to selling and marketing and being an author, or basically anything online, even a dancing hula girl on Youtube. We have tried quite a few of them. But have you ever stopped to look at one of the main trends in selling? The Versus. Are you thinking Hulk Hogan Vs. The Warrior or The Blue Jays Vs The Yankees or even the Cowboys Vs. The Indians, whoops, that is not PC? Shame on you. The Versus of marketing will become clear in a second. Unless you can’t read and are just looking for pretty pictures, then you may be out of luck.

Android vs Iphone

Microsoft vs Apple

Sony vs Nintendo vs Microsoft vs Sega..whoops, they lost, scratch that last one.

Amazon vs…..

Walmart vs Target

Costco vs Grocery Store

Samsung vs Sony

Disney vs Warner

Marvel vs DC

Organic vs GMO

The list could go on and on and on for versus in selling. And guess what? Those of you that were thinking something like Mike Tyson vs Santa Claus, would work as well. Maybe not so much for the cowboys and Indians though. Shame on your non PC mind.

Versus is the key to all selling it seems. Unless you are Amazon and own the whole market. A lot of the time it comes down to preference, it seems people can’t accept that one thing is good for them and one thing is good for another. Oh no! Mine is the best and yours is the worst. Classic versus selling at play. The more a fanboy, for lack of a more vulgar term, goes on and on about something, the more the other side will go on and on. This puts both in the public eye and it sells. Unless everyone just starts to hate you, sorry Sega.

Versus is good for business. Versus has you selling products, baseball games, beanie babies(are they still in?) and what have you. It sells for each company. So getting people to be sheep and claim theirs is the best, is what they want. Even Organic vs GMO has the same deal. GMO relies on misinformed idiots, or paid lackeys, to spread the word that it is good, it keeps the ball rolling on both sides of the court. That is what makes it viable. So it’s not all in the name of good, but it is all in the name to make a buck. Either way, versus can bring selling up to a whole new level.

Have you ever considered versus selling? Any versus selling that you can think of between companies? Have yourself a versus nemesis? Maybe the cat should get a rhyming dog to go up against? Hmm maybe not, they drool.

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

No I haven’t. I’d like to think there’s room enough for all the other science fiction authors.
And I think that would be Amazon versus the world.
