5 Years Down The Road

Can one really go down a road if there is no road? A magical road that happens whether you walk or sit on your butt. That is some road. The future sure comes no matter how we take the fake road. Why the road overload? IWSG went on a question spree.

In terms of your writing career, where do you see yourself five years from now, and what’s your plan to get there?

See myself? Do I get a magic mirror? Wow. Is it in the mail? IWSG really upped their game. Do you even pay the postage?

Plan? That requires one to actually, you know, plan, right? That takes time away from writing. Can it work like writing? Can I get the beginning and the end and then just go with whatever comes in the middle? That means in the end that I’ll be rich. Can’t beat that.

What? They aren’t answers? Can you tell I hate that whole 5 year see yourself crap? Why? Because so much crap can happen in a week, let alone 5 years, that you can plan all you want, doesn’t mean it is anywhere close to what will happen. Now it is good to have some plans and some goals and such. But not always good. Especially for some.

Too many get caught up in their great 5 year plan and refuse to adjust where need be. Then after 5 years their oh so great plan went to crap and they wonder why. The why is simple though. They had one clear focus, their 5 year plan, and ignored everything else that could lead to an actual great plan or give them a chance at other things.

I’ve actually seen such outcomes with a few, quite a few, with their little 5 year plan crap. So damn the plan and just keep on keeping on is my plan. Simple enough, right?

Are you a planner? Got your 5 year plan all ready to go? Maybe it is 10 years. Wowweee!

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

We don’t need no stinkin’ plan!
I barely plan for the next day, let alone five years away.

I would LOVE to be retired and moved away form the metro area. But we’ll see what the house payment says about that…

Payments are key as they come to be.
