A Genre Here And There!

What happens when you mish and mash a bit? Or you are a rhyming cat? Or you let the voices speak to each other? Or you flip flop between them? Or you just want to stretch your skill? Do they make pills for any of that? I’m sure it might apply to one or two. Right. On with the question:

What do you love about the genre you write in most often?

Well I’ve hit Fantasy, Science Fiction, Children’s Books, wacky rhyming things, meta, contemporary, murder mystery, horror-ish, this that and the other thing, and a body swap or two. Do you want me to pick just one genre? Geez, you are asking a lot.

I mainly enjoy stretching my skill and allowing myself to bounce from genre to genre. Why write in one when you have ideas for many different ones? Plus, you can always mash them all together. That may get frowned upon by some, but it can be an enjoyable ride. And when you are a rhyming cat and go on about anything and everything, I guess it goes without saying that you like to mish and mash. I said it anyway, even if it goes without saying. Why even say that? Beats me, this isn’t the cat’s sea. Whoops. Switched. Not sorry. Right. On with it.

Writing itself can take you anywhere, no matter the genre, so that allows for the imagination to thrive and more stories to come due. I think that would work for a fine answer to the question. Of course I could think wrong. It does happen on occasion.

Do you enjoy writing in only one genre? Is there a genre that you find you enjoy more than others?

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

What about the Monster Mash?
I guess I just find it easier to write in one genre.

Feels like most of my writing these days is for the blahg, but I’d like to get back to novels. I miss it, and you’re inspiring me to get back at it…

Mashing genres together is a lot of fun — and dangerous! Though, writers usually laugh in the face of danger… or maybe that’s just me 😉
