The Personal Touch!

Time to get personal at my sea. Hmm, thinking…thinking…thinking. Nope, not much left to say. I guess this is the end of this post for today. Oh yeah, there is an IWSG question.

Have you ever slipped any of your personal information into your characters, either by accident or on purpose?

By accident? Nope. I’m always aware of what I’m doing when writing away. But on purpose I surely have done a time or fifty.

The cat has pretty much revealed all. Although he does it in a way that leaves one confused or thinking I’m just nuts, so maybe the belief isn’t there. But meh, he spills his guts.

If it involves only me, and it merits it, away I’ll let it flow here or at the other blog. And if life experience works for a story, in it will go. The best lie is the one closest to the truth, or something like that, I think they say. Not sure who they are, but we’ll repeat it anyway.

Only thing I don’t share is personal details that I know about other people because it’s not my place. Plus that is just douchey to do. No gossip hound here, or rather gossip cat. Even if it involves me and someone else, like a relationship, which like I said a long time ago, it stays put up in my head.

Of course if the rant really wants to come or the story really wants to be told, there are little ways to work around that. Like a nickname, i.e. Flappy. But for the most part, just me gets out there.

So there is my long-winded answer to that. Have you ever slipped any of your personal information into your writing? Sometimes it is fun to see how one will react, isn’t it?

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

You don’t want to be douchey.

Ha ha! You read my book… you saw how much personal information I slipped in there. Ha ha! Yep, intended every friggin’ word. One of the offenders I based a character on is gone now, so no regrets at all.

I saw a lot of you in there indeed. And intending it makes it all the better.
