Things Said

I figured since the cat is done IWSG until next July or so I would give the question here a go. Plus you know it gives me good post topics to have as well. I am early by a bit, but what the heck, as I don’t want to start posting multiple posts a week here. That’s the cat’s thing.

What’s the best thing someone has ever said about your writing?

The best thing? Not sure I can pick just one. But there have been quite a few, which is surprisingly nice. Snowcatcher gave a great review on her blog of one. Way better than I can ever do with a review.

I actually had a few parents tell me that their kids like to read a few of my books every night. Cassie and The Wild Cat was one that was such a hit. That will sure up the cat’s ego.

I even had a bad review that I found amusing as the writing was fine by them but it mixed genres and they didn’t like that. Fine by me, can’t please everyone. But it wasn’t just a “hate this” review.

Even had a few emails about my A Not So __ World series saying it was enjoyed and asking when the next one is coming. Book 8 is getting there by the way. 5 chapters to go.

Also just got a good review on Murder Has A Price and Profanity Granny became an awkward hit too with a few.

All of it works for me at my sea. Just have to remember you can’t please all and keep on keeping on. Which I will do as I’m now over a 100. Will have to get to 200 to make my OCD happy.

Have you had good things said about your writing? Can you take the bad with the good?

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

That’s so cool that people have taken the time to tell you good things! I get more feedback on my blog than on my books. Thank heavens most of my blog feedback now is not as mean-spirited as the first couple of years. I may have thrown in the towel if the mean didn’t stop.

The feedback on my latest book has been extremely good, and for that, I’m very thankful, but I’m not as good at marketing as I thought, so still very, very light. I think it’s a good thing that one single copy is making the rounds at work. You have to do this because you love it, because most writers won’t ever see million sellers.

Yep, most surely will never see no million bucks. Even if those wannabes say they have a million dollar idea haha I just roll my eyes at them.

A whole bunch of nice things is better. Although you’re right, the Cat will get a big head from that one.

That it is. No stopping the cat’s ego now.
