Valuable Time

Value does seem to be another word that gets chucked around a lot, even though one can’t really throw around a word unless they write it down, but we’ll ignore that. Everything from a very low bank account to a broken down tractor has one. Some may even have a negative value. Geez, sure went on there. Better get to the IWSG question before I de-value this post. Can I even do that?

What is one valuable lesson you’ve learned since you started writing?

There is always more to learn was the first that popped into my mind. Of course that applies to most everything and I knew that somewhere going in. But when you really start something, that is when you truly experience it.

Anyone who thinks they know it all on anything is only fooling themselves. They are also restricting themselves from learning anything new and getting better at whatever it is they think they know it all about.

So I guess I’ll stick with there is always more to learn. Whether that is learning to ignore trolls, what works and what doesn’t, the crummy words I repeated too much when I started or various other things. Ignore the trolls could be a valuable lesson in and of itself as well.

Don’t compare yourself to others.

Not all rules are worth following or fit to everyone.

If you try to please everyone you will fail from the get go.

I could go on and on for a while, but you get the picture. Learning more as you go and keep being open to learning more, whether in writing or anything else, is one valuable lesson to stick to. Although I wouldn’t mind finding a valuable trinket somewhere and selling it for lots of money. Hey, it has happened.

Have you learned anything valuable from writing? Do you think you know it all on anything?

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

The further along I get on this path, the less I realize I know. It’s like de-evolution!

Yep, that surely seems to be the way.

Yes! I have a lesson I learned!! Always keep a notebook and writing instrument at bedside. Has proven extremely valuable more times than I can count!

Being able to jot things down when needed is a win indeed.

Hi Pat – remembering things … but actually the getting up and doing … is something that needs to be done … time is so valuable – select wisely. Cheers Hilary

We sure do have to select it wisely indeed.
